This place is fantastic. The accomodations are splendid and the staff is over-the-top friendly. There are so many little touches that make Tara the perfect couples getaway from Tea and snacks at 4 to Champagne Punch at 6 on weekends. The food at Stonewalls is delicious and the grounds are perfect for meandering as well.

Update from 12/2-12/3/17: Tara is still fantastic but now they have decorated for Christmas. Everywhere you look inside there are tasteful and pretty Christmas decorations. Every room and every shelf. It makes for a very festive atmosphere without losing the air of relaxation. The grounds are lit with beautiful strings of lights that must have taken months to put up.

We really enjoyed our stay here. My wife and I stayed here after getting married in May, and the place couldn't have been nicer! From 5 star meals to the fact that you are staying in an 1800's mansion is just the coolest. There is not much to do in the area other than the lake and a deer zoo, but you don't need to leave the grounds. Just sit back on the porch and drink your coffee while looking about the gardens. Will be back!

Spent a beautiful night at Tara. The room was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. The afternoon tea and hospitality hour were both very fun and had delicious snacks and drinks. The dinner at Ashley was amazing! The service was a little off... one of our courses was not what we ordered, one course was accidentally served twice, and we never received the drinks with our final course. But other than those small details, the food was incredible. Great breakfast in our room in the morning. Would love to come back!

We rented a dining room for a special holiday dinner. The house and grounds were beautiful. The house was full of relics, many from the Civil War. The staff was helpful and patient. It was pricey, but a very memorable experience for everyone.

Love it! Been going to Tara for many years. We almost always take others with us, even as many as 20! The food is excellent, as are the people who work there. We had our youngest daughter's Bridal shower in the lower section. Had it on a Sunday so everyone could experience the Brunch. Each year our children give us a gift card to spend a night. Beautiful rooms. Check in at 3 and enjoy champagne as you meet others staying. Tea and crumpets at 4. At 7 there is Cheese, crackers and the special Tara champagne punch. They will share the recipe with you. I make it for the big Easter brunch we have at our house. Remnants of History throughout Tara. I can't rave about it enough! We love you Tara !!! ~The Bennett's
